This week, the classic Namco RPG, Tales of Symphonia, has come to Steam. Originally released for the Nintendo GameCube back in 2004, this new Steam version is actually a port of the 2014 PlayStation 3 remaster. Although this current release seems to have arrived with a fair amount of minor issues, the game is still fantastic enough to warrant some attention. And hopefully, most of those issues will be resolved by Bandai Namco in the coming weeks.
Also out this week, the somewhat highly-anticipated sci-fi strategy sequel, XCOM 2, the latest entry in the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm fighting series, and a very interesting-looking action platformer called Cobalt. Enjoy one of the finest games the GameCube had to offer, then jump past the break to see more of this week's new releases. So today saw what Nintendo had said would be the last DLC update for Super Smash Bros. Luckily for Nintendo (and PlatinumGames) fans, it's a pretty darn good one! DLC Collection #6 adds two new characters to the Smash Bros roster, gunslinger witch Bayonetta, and Corrin, the gender-selectable protagonist of the upcoming Fire Emblem Fates game. Additionally, the DLC includes Bayonetta's stage, Umbra Clock Tower, as well as an assortment of themed Mii Fighter outfits, some new trophies, and a profile icon.
All together, the collection #6 DLC bundle will set you back $15.48, but as with the previous collections, they also offer the choice to purchase the content piecemeal. You can visit the official Super Smash Bros site for more details, or you can check out the new character trailers, after the break. Once again, last week didn't really provide enough quality content to justify a post, so here is another double-up. 2012 PlayStation Vita gem Gravity Rush is now available on the PlayStation Store as a PS4 remaster. In addition to enhanced visuals, all the extra DLC for the Vita version has been included in the remaster. Now that Sony has ported Gravity Rush, all that's left is for them to remaster Wipeout 2048 and there will essentially be no reason to have ever owned a Vita.
Also out in the past two weeks, a great-looking Japanese Arcade fighter called Nitro+ Blasterz, the next entry in the JRPG Hyperdimension Neptunia series, and Jonathan Blow's highly anticipated new puzzle title, The Witness. Harness the gravity-defying powers of a mysterious cat, then jump past the break to see more of this fortnight's new releases. |
