For the second time in ten years, Dead Rising 1 is the biggest game of the week. And why not? It's the perfect time of year for zombie killing; fall is starting, Halloween isn't too far off, the weather is getting colder, the nights are getting shorter, and everything around us is starting to die. If you never played the classic original, now is your chance. The game is newly remastered and available for the first time on PC.

It's been a good past few weeks for fans of Capcom zombie titles. Two weeks ago, Resident Evil 4 came to PlayStation 4. Then, to celebrate its 10-year anniversary this week, the first Dead Rising game finally came to PlayStation! As if that wasn't enough, Capcom has also delivered PS4 ports of both of the Dead Rising 2 games! Whether you are a longtime fan, or have never played them before, you should know that Resident Evil 4 and Dead Rising are two of the best zombie titles out there. The other two Dead Rising games just happen to constitute some additionally delicious zombie-brutality icing on the cake.
Also, out in the last three weeks, a PS4 conversion of the excellent PS2 game, Hot Shots Tennis (which disappointingly arrived not at all in time for the end of the US Open), PS3 JRPG sequel, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, and the entire BioShock trilogy, all newly playable and in one convenient compilation, on PS4. "I've covered wars, you know." Jump past the break to see more new releases from the past three weeks. It's that time of year again! The end of summer means crazy sale prices, courtesy of the Humble Store. You may want to camp out there over the next 10 days, so you can participate in their ongoing End of Summer Sale. There are thousands of discounts available, but be sure to take advantage soon because they will all have come and gone faster than a summer vacation. Have a look after the break to see some of the hotter deals on offer.
Apologies for not posting the new Steam releases last week. Mistakes were made. As a result, we have amassed quite a compelling list of quality games for your perusal.
The standout from this past week would have to be SNK's fantastic Neo Geo fighter, The Last Blade. Released in the late '90s, The Last Blade was a spiritual successor to SNK's popular Samurai Shodown series. Like those games, The Last Blade features battling swordsmen (and women) and is set during the Edo period in Japan. Along with its sequel, the two Last Blade titles are among the best arcade fighters ever released by SNK. Also out in the last three weeks, the new Deus Ex title, Mankind Divided, Codemasters' much improved 2016 F1 game, and a solid new installment to the Worms franchise. Sharpen your blade, then jump past the break to see more new releases from the past three weeks. |
