If you are considering purchasing one of these bad boys, I would strongly recommend doing so sooner rather than later. The limited edition PS4 consoles seem to run out of stock pretty quickly. If you are mostly just interested in the controller, you may be pleased to know that it will be released as a standalone item as well. The console (and, presumably, the controller) will be released alongside the game on November 6th.
If you happen to be a Call of Duty fan who has been putting off picking up a PlayStation 4, now might be the time to act. Sony has just announced that they will be releasing a special Call of Duty: Black Ops III Limited Edition PS4 later this fall. For $449.99, you can get a black console emblazoned with the orange "III" logo, a 1 TB hard drive, one unique-looking grey and orange DualShock 4 controller, a copy of the game, and the bonus, Nuk3Town multiplayer map. If you are a King of Fighters fan (or even just a fighter fan in general), you may be pleased to know that the next entry in the long-running King of Fighters series has recently been announced. According to SNK Playmore, in 2016, The King of Fighters XIV will be coming to PlayStation 4. What's interesting about this announcement is that there was no mention of an Arcade release. If that does in fact turn out to be the case, it would make this the first of the 14-title series proper not to have one.
Another noteworthy change (and quite a disappointing one, in my opinion) is the apparent move from the beautiful and unique hand-drawn sprites that the series is famous for to some pretty generic-looking computer-generated 3D models. I am all for more King of Fighters games, but with no official Arcade release on the horizon and a decidedly less-appealing look to the game, I'm finding it difficult to feel very excited about it. At this point, it's still a bit early though. Perhaps the game will begin to look more enticing as we get closer to its expected release, sometime next year. For more on The King of Fighters XIV, you can visit the game's official website that recently went live, or you can check out a brief teaser trailer, after the break. If you are looking for a deal on some great Capcom games, look no further than the Humble Store. For the next 7 days, you can take advantage of some very reasonable discounts on a slew of excellent Steam titles. Head past the page break to see a list of some of the better ones.
On September 9th, 2015, well over 8 years after the first iteration launched, Apple announced that their new 4th generation Apple tv will finally, finally support games. In keeping with that theme of being 8 years late to the party, Apple also announced that the all new Siri Remote (the only controller to be included with the device) will be able to control games via motion. This will be achieved using an internal gyroscope and accelerometer, much like Nintendo's last generation console (and hit gaming sensation of 2007) the Wii.
Right now, the Humble Store is having a huge two week long "End of Summer" sale. They are featuring discounts on over 1000 games! I would advise you to check it out if you want to take advantage of any of the hundreds of crazy deals they've got going on over there. As of the time of writing this, day 5 is nearly over. This means that you'll need to act fast if any of the following deals sound good to you. (Head past the page break to see a small sample.)
