Also out in the last six weeks, another welcome addition to Steam, in the form of this year's early PlayStation 4 hit, Nioh, the great new follow-up to the surprisingly excellent 2015 Steam shooter, Sky Force Anniversary, and an absolutely superb port of one of the greatest arcade fighters of all time, The Last Blade 2. Fight the enemy with tooth and claw, then jump past the break to see more new releases from the past 42 days.
Just like the New PlayStation Store Releases, this week's standout Steam release is the HD remaster of the brilliant Capcom hit, Okami (for the first time ever on PC)! Okami was originally released for the PlayStation 2, where it was well received for its unique goddess/wolf main character, Amaterasu (who later appeared in Marvel Vs Capcom 3), as well as the beautiful cel-shaded, Japanese ink-wash style graphics. Okami was so critically acclaimed, in fact, that it has been considered by some to be among the best video games of all time. As such, it is a fantastic addition to Steam, and a must-buy for pretty much everyone.

2017 is nearly done, which means that this will more than likely be the last New PlayStation Store Releases post of the year; but what a game to close it out with! This week, Capcom brought the beautiful HD remaster of their 2006 critical darling, Okami, to the PlayStation 4 (via digital and retail)! Even though this game was already available on the PS3 Store, it's certainly welcome on the PS4 as well. After all, you can never have too much of a good thing, right?
Also out in the last two months, the latest (and chronologically earliest) Assassin's Creed game, MachineGames follow-up to their very successful 2014 crack at the Wolfenstein franchise, and Tokyo Xanadu, a new-ish property from veteran RPG developer Falcom. Become goddess, huntress, heroine, and savior, then jump past the break to see more new releases from the past nine weeks. Street Fighter fans rejoice! At long last, Capcom has announced the Street Fighter collection that some fans have literally been waiting decades for. The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will encompass every single official, main-series arcade iteration of Street Fighter (excluding the IV and V games). That's all three installments of Street Fighter Alpha, all three installments of Street Fighter III, all five versions of Street Fighter II, and the lonely single version of Street Fighter (1). 12 games representing the first 12 years of Street Fighter! A very satisfying collection for any Street Fighter enthusiast.
Additionally, Capcom will offer full online play for 4 of those titles: Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. That's particularly exciting news as this is the first time that any Street Fighter Alpha game will be made playable online (outside of Japan). Furthermore, the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will be coming to all current systems, including PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch! Prepare to strike, upon the game's arrival in May 2018. You can check out the official announcement trailer after the break. |
