Also out in the last two months, one of the most incredible Sonic the Hedgehog games ever made, a second Legacy Collection of main-series Mega Man games, and the Steam versions of a pair of fantastic Falcom games, both older and brand new. Gather your party, become divine, then jump past the break to see more new releases from the past 60 days.
Apologies for the two month absence of New Steam Releases. We actually had to come up with a new system of evaluating new Steam titles to contend with the sudden massive deluge of Steam Direct garbage. Apparently, Valve's only answer to fixing the one real problem with their service is to somehow make it exponentially worse. Very disappointing, to say the least. At any rate, this week saw the release of the much-anticipated Divinity: Original Sin II. Sequel to the excellently-enhanced-in-2015 original Original Sin, OS II contains even more of what made that updated version so great. You can rest assured that if you like fantasy RPGs, Original Sin II has what you're looking for.

So it seems that the once weekly New PlayStation Store Releases have kind of evolved into the every-several-weeks-to-a-month(-ly) New PlayStation Store Releases. Oh well. Maybe one day we will get more routine with it but for now, that may have to suffice. At any rate, this week saw the release of the newest entry in the long-running Ys series- Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. This marks the first Ys release to come directly to a non-portable console since the PS2's Ys VI: Ark of Napishtim back in 2005. (There have been four others in the interim.) So if you're a console player who prefers to experience Ys on the big screen, rather than little one, well welcome home.
Also out in the last month, a shiny new remake of the first Yakuza game, the somewhat-unexpectedly-early Destiny 2, and an also somewhat-unexpected (but very welcome) console version of one of our 2015 games of the year. Go pick up and play the ultimate action RPG, then jump past the break to see more new releases from the past four weeks. |
