This week saw the release of a very special pair of games onto Steam - the Dreamcast (and original Xbox) classics, Shenmue I & II. Bundled together in a convenient two-for-one pack, Shenmue I & II are finally available in HD, and for everyone who wasn't able to experience them on those original platforms. If you are a fan of Sega's similar Yakuza series, think of Shenmue as the epic (if slightly dated) progenitor of that franchise.
Also out in the past month, fan-favorite luchador indie sequel, Guacamelee! 2; a surprisingly satisfying roguish twist on a great imitation of Castlevania, called Dead Cells; and one of the most recent and refined descendants of those Shenmue-type games, Yakuza 0.
