Also out in the past three weeks, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, a remaster of a Konami mech game from the PS2 (with newly-implemented and fully optional VR support); a remake of an obscure shoot-'em-up from the Sega Genesis called Steel Empire; and The Messenger, a pretty great-looking homage to the NES classic, Ninja Gaiden. Become the Tomb Raider, then jump past the break to see more new releases from the last twenty-one days.
September, as usual, is shaping up to be a pretty great month for gaming. This one seems particularly big for Square Enix. Last week, they gave us the fairly long-awaited Dragon Quest XI, and this week they put out the highly-anticipated third entry in the popular Tomb Raider reboot series, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Both games seem to be faring pretty well so far, so Square Enix must be doing something right. They're certainly doing their part to keep us gamers entertained.

To all the web-heads and true believers out there, today is your day! Insomniac's hotly-anticipated Spider-Man title is finally upon us. And if early reviews are anything to go by, this might just be the wallcrawler's best video game yet. If you ask us, it's about time the big-hearted webslinger finally gets the AAA hit he deserves. There have certainly been plenty of decent enough ones over the years, but none that we feel have been truly worthy of one of the comic world's all-time greatest heroes. (Even though we will always have a soft spot in our hearts for Maximum Carnage.)
Also out in the past month, the latest (and also possibly greatest) Dragon Quest installment - Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age; the second Yakuza Kiwami remake; and a sequel to the lucha libre themed indie darling, Guacamelee! With great gaming comes great responsibility (or something like that). Jump past the break to see more new releases from the last 28 days. Sega fanatics unite! The day you have long been waiting for has finally arrived - a new Streets of Rage title has been announced! This wholly unexpected, yet incredible revelation comes courtesy of Lizardcube (in partnership with DotEmu), the fantastic studio that recently brought you that amazing remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap. This latest installment appears to feature returning stars, Axel and Blaze. Not much else has been revealed as of yet, least of all who the composer will be, but here's hoping Yuzo Koshiro happens to be available.
For more on Streets of Rage 4, you can visit the game's official website that recently went live, or you can get hyped further by watching the pretty rad reveal trailer, after the break. |
