Also out in the past two months, an updated console release of Sega's early '90s arcade classic, Virtua Racing; a fantastic new Legend of Zelda filled sequel to the 2015 indie darling, Crypt of the NecroDancer; and a third installment to Sega's pretty outstanding Sonic Racing series. Make together, play together, then jump past the break to see more new releases from the last nine weeks.
It's Mario time! Today saw the release of one of the most anticipated Switch games of the year: Super Mario Maker 2. Sequel to the incredibly popular 2015 Wii U game (and 2016 3DS port), Super Mario Maker 2 ups the ante with an optional new theme based on Super Mario 3D World, a whole host of new features, and the addition of some very welcome multiplayer modes (because let's face it, Super Mario just isn't as super without his Super Mario Bro in tow). Just as the original was one of the best reasons to own a Wii U in 2015, Super Mario Maker 2 seems like a pretty darn compelling reason to go pick up a Switch now (assuming you didn't already own one for some reason).

Well, it's officially summer this week, but it's starting to feel a bit like Halloween. Not that it's getting any cooler outside, in fact, quite the opposite. No, it's because, Mr Castlevania himself, Koji Igarashi, has finally released his first non-Castlevania Castlevania game since departing Konami, back in 2014. Bloodstained -Ritual of the Night- has basically everything that makes for a great Castlevania game: monsters, magic, whips (and swords)...even a castle! It also has music by longtime Castlevania composer, Michiru Yamane. Basically, if you've ever been a Castlevania fan, you're already a Bloodstained fan. Welcome to your new home.
Also out in the past month, a Steam port of the last great Samurai Shodown game; a Steam port of the fantastic 2017 Blaster Master reboot; and the latest entry in the always-entertaining Sonic Racing franchise, Team Sonic Racing. Save humanity, and yourself, then jump past the break to see more new releases from the last five weeks. Well, the 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo wrapped up a few days ago and it was definitely a memorable one for quite a few reasons. There was plenty of exciting news from the world of video games, as well as the typical head-scratcher or two. As with most E3s, there were far too many games shown and announcements made to possibly be able to cover everything in a single post, so we've gone ahead and condensed it down to a more easily digestible dozen for you. So without further ado, here are the top 12 highlights we have selected that were either unveiled or reconfirmed at the event.
