Don't despair, fellow Steam aficionados. After three long weeks away, the New Steam Releases are back. Well, it wasn't a matter of them going away so much as there simply not being enough decent new content to post about. This must be the slow time of year. Finally though, Steam has accumulated enough good stuff and we're ready for action.

The standout title from the past 21 days would have to be the fantastic-looking bullet hell shoot 'em up, The Hurricane of the Varstray -Collateral Hazard-. Despite the fact that this particular scrolling shooter was never an actual Arcade release (not yet anyway), it definitely has the look of one. Japanese developer Studio SiestA obviously put a lot of care and effort into this title. It should be noted that they already have an established pedigree, thanks to their excellent prior Arcade/Xbox Live Arcade shoot 'em up, Trouble Witches.

Also released in the past three-quarters of a month, another fun-looking little action title called Cally's Caves 3, a fighting game based on the Kung Fu Panda animated movies, and a double pack of two classic World War I flight simulation games. Wait patiently for several weeks, finally get a nice amount of quality new releases to get excited about, then jump past the break to see more new releases.
