This week, the PS2 version of Capcom's hit Resident Evil game, Code: Veronica, came to PlayStation 4. Released as a console exclusive for the ill-fated Dreamcast in 2000, Code: Veronica was quickly ported to the PlayStation 2 the following year. It has been said that Code: Veronica is actually the legitimate sequel to Resident Evil 2 and was originally intended as such by Capcom (with Resident Evil 3 acting as a side-story). Plot-wise, that certainly makes a lot of sense; and it's no wonder why Capcom would balk at releasing the next numeric installment as an exclusive for an entirely separate platform than they had released the two previous games for. Whatever the case may be, Code: Veronica is an essential component of the Resident Evil storyline that no fan should be without.
