Let's kick shell! Konami has great news for all you '90s Turtles fans out there! They just recently announced that they will be releasing all the hit titles from the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, and Sega Genesis in one righteous package! The appropriately named Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Cowabunga Collection will be releasing sometime later this year for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X, and Steam.

Sorry for the delay in posting the usual June E3 news but we (like so many others) were waiting on Sony to get with the program and give the fans at least some idea of what they can expect to get excited about over the next year or two. Well, a year later Covid-19 still wouldn't take a hint and kindly flock off so this year's E3 event still wasn't the typical show everyone is used to. It was back, though, online only and rebranded as the "Electronic Entertainment Experience", but we'll always take some kind of a show over no show at all.

Microsoft and Bethesda got things going with their first E3 press conference as one singular industry titan. Followed shortly after by Nintendo, who did their now-standard E3 Nintendo Direct presentation. Sony, however, decided it was too cool for school, skipped E3 altogether and waited till just this month to hold their own upcoming releases showcase. But now that we've heard from all 3 players, we can finally round up the highlights for you.

Well, our Best Games of 2020 list is done now so it's time to move ahead to 2021. There's a lot to look forward to over the next 11 months (provided the release dates hold). All in all, it's looking to be another solid year for gaming. Read on for a list of 12 selected highlights that you should be able to play before the year's end.

Now that our Games of the Year list is behind us, we can start looking forward to this year. There are a lot of exciting new offerings on the horizon for 2020, some of which will begin releasing fairly soon. A few upcoming titles, however, have already been delayed and may, perhaps be delayed further. But regardless of when they all arrive, this should still certainly be a very entertaining year. As fits the theme of this whole site (in case you hadn't caught on yet), we've decided to lay out the top 12 highlights, along with the most current release information we have. Enjoy.

Sega fanatics unite! The day you have long been waiting for has finally arrived - a new Streets of Rage title has been announced! This wholly unexpected, yet incredible revelation comes courtesy of Lizardcube (in partnership with DotEmu), the fantastic studio that recently brought you that amazing remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap. This latest installment appears to feature returning stars, Axel and Blaze. Not much else has been revealed as of yet, least of all who the composer will be, but here's hoping Yuzo Koshiro happens to be available.

Street Fighter fans rejoice! At long last, Capcom has announced the Street Fighter collection that some fans have literally been waiting decades for. The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will encompass every single official, main-series arcade iteration of Street Fighter (excluding the IV and V games). That's all three installments of Street Fighter Alpha, all three installments of Street Fighter III, all five versions of Street Fighter II, and the lonely single version of Street Fighter (1). 12 games representing the first 12 years of Street Fighter! A very satisfying collection for any Street Fighter enthusiast.

Additionally, Capcom will offer full online play for 4 of those titles: Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. That's particularly exciting news as this is the first time that any Street Fighter Alpha game will be made playable online (outside of Japan). Furthermore, the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will be coming to all current systems, including PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch! Prepare to strike, upon the game's arrival in May 2018. This past Wednesday, Aksys Games announced that the current update to the Arcade version of Guilty Gear Xrd will be coming to home consoles early next year. Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- will be arriving on both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 in the Spring of 2016. The game will feature at least 4 additional characters over Sign (the last console entry) and will retain that version's cross-platform functionality. The next adventure in the Far Cry series was announced by Ubisoft yesterday. Far Cry Primal will take place during the Stone Age, in a land called Oros. You will play as Takkar, a tribal hunter who must survive, gather others to his tribe, and fend off enemies and dangerous prehistoric animals.

The game will feature warring tribes, tools and weapons crafted from bone and stone, and intimidating megafauna such as saber-tooth tigers and woolly mammoths. No price point has been revealed as of yet, though Amazon is currently listing pre-orders at $60. Hopefully, that is a just a placeholder price until the actual (lower) one is revealed. Ubisoft's last Far Cry offshoot, Blood Dragon (a stand-alone expansion to Far Cry 3) only cost $14.99 when it was released.

Like Blood Dragon, Far Cry Primal will also be stand-alone, so Ubisoft's excellent 2014 release, Far Cry 4, will not be required to play it. You can, however, feel free to enjoy that game until Primal is released in February of next year (March, for PC).

If you are a King of Fighters fan (or even just a fighter fan in general), you may be pleased to know that the next entry in the long-running King of Fighters series has recently been announced. According to SNK Playmore, in 2016, The King of Fighters XIV will be coming to PlayStation 4. What's interesting about this announcement is that there was no mention of an Arcade release. If that does in fact turn out to be the case, it would make this the first of the 14-title series proper not to have one.

Another noteworthy change (and quite a disappointing one, in my opinion) is the apparent move from the beautiful and unique hand-drawn sprites that the series is famous for to some pretty generic-looking computer-generated 3D models. I am all for more King of Fighters games, but with no official Arcade release on the horizon and a decidedly less-appealing look to the game, I'm finding it difficult to feel very excited about it. At this point, it's still a bit early though. Perhaps the game will begin to look more enticing as we get closer to its expected release, sometime next year.
